Out Like a Lion

Published by lolly at 11:36 pm under Pom Pullover, Project Spectrum

How cool was March? Did you have as much fun with this as I did? Pinks and reds were all over the blogosphere!

One last pink and red hoorah…

All the pinks and reds in my world this past month… the flowers, the knits, the postcards, the books, the collectibles - I truly had rose-colored glasses this month! And some 900 of you did too! Many participants chose to showcase their projects on their blogs, while others used the Project Spectrum Flickr page. It is a great inspiration to see all of your lovely creations, and I thank you so much for sharing yourself and your creativity in this Project.

The fun is not over!! Many more colors over the next few months! Remember that Project Spectrum is a no-pressure project. It can be as big or as small as you want to make it. You can create anything you desire - please do not think you have to knit something every month! This may be primarily a knitting blog, but ALL crafts are welcomed in Project Spectrum!

As the month comes to a close (only a few minutes away!), I have a few more pink and red photos to share…

Cherry Blossom trees at the peak bloom
(Don’t forget the Festival Knit on the National Mall!)

A sweet gift from Lisa! Thank you for the lovely package! I can’t wait to play with the seed beads!

My March Postcard from Ashley! I just love it! Thank you!

I have a secret knit in the works - for a certain mother of mine who has a birthday in a few days - so knitting content has been on the DL. I did however get a few more inches on my "Pom" hoodie. I love working with this Woolarina yarn!

Little bit of red and orange combined! A perfect transition knit!

Ready for some sunshiney yellow happiness tomorrow!?

Just wonderful! I love your montage. I think I am going to put together a section on my blog that highlights each months colors, including the post cards both sent and received!

This has been such a wonderful idea, Lolly!

What a rose colored month indeed! :) Looking forward to seeing all the oranges & yellows this month! (I’ve already posted 1 orange/yellow entry on the blog this AM.)

I’m so going to miss all the pretty pink and red! The Pom looks great though! I should start dying for sweaters more! :)

I have loved all the pink and red in March . . . but may be looking forward to the yellow and orange even more!!! So sunny and cheerful, right? Thank you so much for all the work you are putting into Project Spectrum - it has been so much fun already and we’re only a month in!

I think I need to go and exchange some of my yarn for my wobbly tote now that we’re into April!

  10. Jenniferon 01 Apr 2006 at 9:27 am

I love pink and red, but still gained a greater appreciation for them this month. I’m really looking forward to working with orange and yellow next.

  11. Chrison 01 Apr 2006 at 9:37 am

Thanks for aiding me in looking at reds and pinks differently - I’m definitely more open to them now. It’ll be a lot harder to reach that place with yellow and orange, I fear…

  12. Gracieon 01 Apr 2006 at 11:22 am

Loved the red and pink funness (is that a word?!). But, as we all know, I adore pink anyway. I’m excited to start into the world of yellow!

That collection of thumbnails is awesome. Thanks for starting this project. It’s amazing because I have started noticing all the colors around me more. Not just where red was present in large areas of the landscape or line of vision, but also in all the details. They have just been popping for me. It’s a great way to freshen one’s take on the world. Everything is seen in a new light. Cheers and thanks for dropping by my blog! Miriam

I cannot believe March is gone. I still have pink and red yarn in my stash. Grrr.

But I’m moving on…and have been looking through my stash for some orange/yellow ideas. :D

I wanna be there on the 9th!! Will start plotting…

  16. Kristinon 01 Apr 2006 at 11:47 am

YAY! I love the photos. It is fun to stop and take a closer look at how much of one color exists in your world. Looking forward to April!

Project Spectrum is so much fun and want to thank you for having it! Your pullover hooded sweater is coming along pretty quickly! I can’t wait to see it finished! I have my eye on this for a future project. Bring on April Project Spectrum and in the colors of Sunshine.

Yes Lolly, thank you again for your wonderful idea. It is fun to think of different projects for different colours…

  22. Mimion 01 Apr 2006 at 6:13 pm

Lol, I enjoyed March colors, but I am looking forward to the vivid colors of April as well. I love Project Spectrum! It is such a great way to find even more beauty in our environments.

I haven’t got anything specific planned for April yet, but you can bet there will be pictures of my yellow hibiscus.

    Love You!

  23. Allisonon 01 Apr 2006 at 6:54 pm

Those trees are gorgeous! And it looks like the sweater is going really well so far.
I was glancing around today, and I’m amazed to see how much yellow is right here in my room, considering that I always say it’s one of my least favorite colors. This month is already an eye-opener :)

Love the collage, love the concept.
I think so many of us are inspired by color, it is fun to have a theme that runs through a month to think about.
