Wide Blue Yonder
I know that some of you have been eagerly awaiting this BLUE month of June. Honestly, I look forward to each new color month, and I am having such a wonderful time with Project Spectrum! I hope that it is bringing you joy as well!

I just wish that each month was a little longer - I always have WIPs! Luckily, I am on the toe decreases on my May green anklets, so they will not linger long (unlike the seed stitch purse, and the pom hoodie! I need to get back to those one day soon)
So many shades of blue call to me; my mother always told me that it was “one of my colors”. I often worked it into my wardrobe with a comfy pair of jeans, or a tee, and since I started knitting in 2003, I have added more blues to my wardrobe!

My Alchemy sweater, Diagonal Fixation socks, Rhapsody pullover and Koigu Indigo Socks (plus a few scarves, a hat, a bag, and a sweater for Kris!)
And more blue knits are on the way… among them:

Rowan’s Carla in Rowan Cotton Tape (colorway “Glint”)
This is my first big Summer of Stash project. This yarn, a lovely slate blue, was acquired at last February‘s yarn swap at Ann’s. It just so happens that it is the same colorway as the Virtue beret I made last August. I really enjoyed working with the Cotton Tape then, so I know that this will be a good project as well. I am planning to follow some of the notes on the Carla-Along blog, a knitalong that happened back in 2004.
I have a lot of amazing blue yarns in my stash, and while I will not be able to get through all of them in one month, I do hope to make a little dent!
Click here for more details about each skein…
(Some of these yarns are just a representation of the blue shade, and there are several more skeins in the stash for a larger project.) This photograph was taken last May – 13 months ago – and I am a little ashamed to admit that none of these skeins have been knit up since then. In fact, my blue stash has even grown more since then. Some blue additions since then…
(Click on pictures for more information about the yarns!)
Have some blue stash? I would love to see! Show your blues!
Flash that blue stash for me!
(and let me know when you do so I can see it!)
Don’t forget that the Project Spectrum Postcard Swap is now a month-by-month signup. If you have not signed up for JUNE’S swap, there is still time. Please fill out the form by June 10th, and you will receive your pal’s name by the 11th, I do solemnly swear. Please read the new rules for the Postcard Swap carefully before signing up!
…and one more plug for the Project Spectrum Flickr group. We are having tons of fun over there! It is a great way to share all of your color-themed photos with your fellow PS-participants, and perfect for participants who do not have a blog! Please email me, or sign up through Flickr if you would like to share your project photographs in this forum. Participants can also leave comments for each other there – so let your pals know what you think about their creations!
Ready – Set – BLUE!

Happy June 1 Miss Lolly!

You need to take a picture of your blue eyes! They are so pretty, and a lovely shade of blue as well.
Blue is always one of my favorite colors – from pale baby blue to deep dark indigo….
Carla is beautiful! It looks like it may work for my Linen print yarn as well…hmmm…which book was it out of? I have the Cotton tape collection, but don’t remember seeing it there.

Every woman in the World looks good in Blue – men look pretty darn cute in it too.
I toast the Color of the Universe!
I don’t know, now I feel a little blue seeing all your blue. and I’m craving blueberries.
Oh remember Booberry Cereal.
Blue is your color because it brings out your dramatic eyes. It’s good you have it in your stash as it will all look so lovely on you. We have matching blues with our botanical shades yarn, hehe..
Looking forward to hearing from you…
Yay for blue! I really sucked at last month b/c of gift knitting but I have some exciting projects lined up for june!!
I didn’t quite get Hourglass done before the end of May, but it’ll be close. Blue is a good color, but I don’t really wear it that much. I’m going to have to see what I can do about fixing that.
What lovely blue yarns – looking forward to seeing how you knit them up.
WOW!! So many gorgeous blues!! Blue certainly is a great color for you Lolly! I can’t wait to see your blue WIPs!
Blue – my favorite color! I love that blue alpaca you have. It’s all gorgeous, really.
I just finished knitting the pieces of Carla — in green, alas. It’s fun, dude. Maybe if I get my act together I’ll blog the photos of it. Yay for Project Spectrum!
Holy moly! You got some blues there girl;) So much yarn, so little time! Thanks again for starting Project Spectrum. I’ve really enjoyed it.
You’ve got some great blue yarns! Blue is one of my favorite colors too.
You could do a rainbow month at the end of Project Spectrum where everyone could either finish up their WIPs or go crazy with colors.
fantastic! really lovely blue shades! love your picture and th blue sky and all together with all that yummy yarn! Now, – I wish you (and I – and all knitbloggers..) had two or three extra sets of arms so we can knit up all those goodies – and then… get MORE yarn!!
You have a ton of blue yarn in your stash … wow.
I love blue, and have always considered it one of my colors, but strangely enough, have little blue yarn in my stash.
Time to remedy that, I think! Thanks for the inspiration!
Would you look at all that lovely blue yarn!!! Don’t forget to take a close up of your beautiful blue eyes for Project Spectrum June!
I always think I look dead wearing blue. But now I just realised that I can actually wear some shades of blue, and that my blue stash is growing! I LOVE Project Spectrum, thanks Lolly
Love your blue stash anyway, yummy!
I flashed my blue stash, Lolly – come take a look
Jo
Hurrah for blue!!
Ahhhhh…blue!! Hooray! My favorite color. Yes, Lol’, blue is your color. It looks so beautiful with your skin tones and your lovely eyes. I might sneak some of your blues if you don’t start on those. XXOO
You got it! I flashed it and now feel a little naked.
Love your blue FOs; especially the Rhapsody pullover.
Blue is your color, girlie.
those blues look lovely on you. can’t wait to see carla! i’m still working on my greens too…i have to thank you again big time for starting this up, it’s been fun and motivating. thanks also for all of your encouragement!
Blue is a lovely color for June. It comes at just the right time, school is letting out for the summer…ahhh…summer.
I put my sad little stash of blue on my blog. I am embarrassed though as it is not nearly as wonderful as all of the others I have seen out there today! Wow!
You certainly have motivated many with your Project Spectrum. It has been great fun!
Inspired by Project Spectrum, I’ve flashed by stash, too…among other pictures. Just skim by the pink object and move straight to the 3rd photo with all the blue stash. I feel like my blue stash pales in comparison to yours. Maybe I need to buy more?
I flashed my blue stash for you – I was surprised at how much I had!
Whoa – no more blue yarn (or fibre) for me. The blue stash is a little out of control.
I love your BLUE “stuff”!!! Here is my BLUE!
