I reserve the right to completely change my mind.
My plans were set for Project Spectrum’s first two-month span of knitting. Ambitious plans. (Remember? I am the girl with the plan…)
Then, I saw Carrie’s blog. The wheels started turning in my head.
I have the perfect yarn. It has been sitting in my stash without a definitive project for well over a year.
Got the pattern, balled up the yarn.
Cast on is imminent.
… I think I have a new favorite color…
I reserve the right to knit what I want whenever the mood strikes me!

Silky Wool is def. in my top three fav all time yarns. What colors is that? It’s gorgeous. You’re going to love it – I think it will be perfect for that sweater.
I love the way that Silky Wool feels, I am making my husband a long sleeve polo out of it, I can’t stop touching it.!
Of course you can change your mind! I knit Dale’s Hypotenuse out of silky wool and it was great to work with – have fun.
Girl with a plan can also be girl with a better plan.
That yarn is mind-meltingly lovely, even through the computer monitor. It’s no wonder you didn’t stick with your original plan.
A woman ALWAYS has the right to change her mind! Love the color you picked. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Oooh. I love silky wool, I love that color, and I LOVE that pattern. This is going to be a great sweater, cant wait to see it!!
LOL LOL LOL! That’s what I love about knitting – I never feel bad for changing my mind (which in most things I would)! Well let me praise your change – that will look lovely!! And you’re right what a great colour!!!
Ay, ay , ay…Lolly is out of control!!!
It’s going to be gorgeous.
I love that Silky Wool. It’s gonna look great with that pattern.
Oooh I loooove it! Just a sec…let me turn on the printer…
You’re giving me project whiplash, Lolly! Yesterday I was all about the Sesame, checking my Rowan Wool Cotton stash (yes, I have one) and dreaming up cozy cardis, and now you’ve got me Gleeful. What am I going to do???
woah! I’m all in a spin with ideas for PS!
Tell me more about this yarn! I see from the comments that people love it; I’ve never even heard of it. But I’d like something of a wool/silk blend for the Sahara I want to make, and am scouting out options while I whittle away at the stash. It’s very cute: I give you free reign to always knit whatever strikes your fancy! I can’t believe Project Spectrum starts in two days; I don’t know that I’m ready.
I read Carrie’s post too. Glee is a beautiful sweater and the Silky Wool is perfect!
Well looks to me like this will fit right in with Project Spectrum – isn’t it blueish???
That color is beautiful – it’s perfect for that sweater! I think you made a good decision!
You and Grumperina are both in a periwinkle phase. That’s definitely not a bad thing as it’s such a lovely shade. I’m sure that you’ll speed through Glee and that her color will look lovely with your eyes.
We acknowledge your right. Don’t worry, it happens to all of us. My list of projects for the first two months is a bit overzealous, something like 4 pairs of socks, a sweater, a shrug and a pair of mitts. I can do it though…maybe.
I can’t wait to see how that yarn knits up, it’s beautiful.
abso-knita-lutly, without that right nothing would get done! I love that pattern too!!! Can’t wait to see it
That’s it, I’m buying it!
That color is going to look AMAZING on you.
That sounds lovely! What a perfect spring sweater. And really, as much as I enjoy your to-knit lists, who cares when you’re knitting such pretty stuff?
Wow…like morning glories.
What beautiful yarn and what a gorgeous color! I can’t wait to see you in that sweater!
that’s a gorgeous color!
It will be lovely and when you finish you will still have time for some items from your “plan”
[...] Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 in Knitting Can I do this with my pink Cashsoft DK? Add long sleeves? This might work. It’s so cute. Must download the pattern! [...]
Oh that wool looks fabulous – and that pattern has such a classic look to it. 2 more sleeps!! We all reserve the right to change our minds Lolly!
you are too funny…..(i think they call it knitting ADD)
Carrie’s did look really nice, didn’t it. It’s funny — you’re changing your plans after seeing Carrie’s sweater and I’m seriously thinking about dropping all I had planned for early 2007 to work on Sesame after seeing your gorgeous FO. I love it!
I love the pattern, and the yarn. Blogging is great, it gets you hyped up for projects and knitting, but aren’t they distracting? All it takes is one picture, and we’re all “OOH SHINY”.
I made Wendy Bernhard’s NSS Marilyn cardigan out of that and it’s awesome to knit with. Very soft, but sturdy at the same time. You’ll love it!
Uh-oh. I can feel myself starting to follow you down this dark path…. Must finish mittens first!
That color will be so lovely on you, Lolly!
That’s going to be beautiful! Where Lolly leads, I follow!
I love that yarn! I knit myself a sweater from the Rowan Calmer book out of it. It’s a pretty good deal for the yardage, too.
Oh! So! Cute! Resolve not to buy any new knitting patterns is fading…
Hmmm… that Silky Wool is truly spectacular. I need some. Why is every Elsebeth Lavold yarn on sale at WEBS *except* that one???!! Hmmm… is a *sale* really necessary?! Hmmm…
Hurry up and knit, so I can live vicariously through you!!!
I can’t wait to see it all knit up! That color is going to be lovely on you!
yum… the yarn is gorgeous! and definitely, you can knit whatever you want
so many other art forms for project spectrum!
Silky Wool is an awesome yarn to work with. You will enjoy it. I had a customer do that pattern in the new Rowan Tapestry with gorgeous results.
Amy
That color is amazing!
It will look terrific with the pattern you picked out.
oh wow you’re fast..hurry up and cast on..I wanna see
that color is very pretty!
I love that yarn! I make sure to ‘visit’ it when I go to the LYS.
“I reserve the right to knit what I want whenever the mood strikes me!”
I hereby adopt this as my knitting manifesto.
you are such a sweetheart! what a compliment! i’m so glad that you liked my sweater so much that it derailed your knitting plans. brou hou ha ha ha!
Somtimes I love blogs. Sometimes I hate how they just keep adding more and more to my “must knit” list….. *sigh*
Love Glee…how cute would that be with a pair of jeans?!
I wouldn’t have half the things in my ‘toknit’ list if it weren’t for Carrie. She does have the best taste.
You’re gonna love that silky wool! I just knit Ruben with it and it’s pure delight! I love the sweater you chose too, way cute and will look adorable on you!
OK, yes, I love this color. It is our prerogative to change our minds.
Those zephyr patterns will get you every time! Silky wool is just wonderful, blocks very soft and even. Can’t wait to see your progress!
OF COURSE you can change your mind! Silky Wool is so lovely, it just gets sofer and softer each time it is washed. I have been wanting to knit that (and several other Zephyr patterns) for a while now…..lovely shade of blue!
