I came home today to a package on the doorway – it was a package from my little sister, Sarah. These adorable wellies were inside! She claims that they are a belated birthday gift (my bday was last November!) After a squeal of excitement, they went right on my feet. Snow was just starting to fall, and there was a cold breeze (hence the blurry photos!) but what a perfect time for wellies: The meteorologists are predicting some snowfall and freezing rain tomorrow!
I’ll take the nasty weather if it means I can wear this fancy footwear!
**UPDATE: Sarah got them from Target.com, and they have quite the selection!
Speaking of footwear…
I finished my first Hokusai Rib sock!
Yarn Pirate sock yarn (Cannon Beach colorway)
Based on the Madder Ribbed Sock from Knitting Vintage Socks

And what a lovely sock!
I’m experiencing wellie envy. At least you didn’t find a pair of those clear ones. There was a time I was ready to threaten lives for a pair of those that fit.
And whoa, do those socks look vibrant. Gorgeous!
Someone’s rocking out with her new camera! LOVE the sock pic. Fun wellies + handknit socks = Bring On The Rain!
The boots are very cute – but I love the blues and browns of your sock!
I *love* those boots — so cute and eye-catching! (If you’re sharing the source, I’d love to know.)
And that new camera is totally doing justice to your yarny pics — the sock is gorgeous and it looks like it glows!
Well how cute are those wellies! My snow boots are getting quite a workout up here in the mountains as our snow melts. My muddy walks would certainly be more enjoyable if my feet were decked out like yours!
Those boots are amazing …I’d love to know where they were bought.
Love the boots with your Fetchings! And congrats on the sock–it’s been a long time coming but they are clearly worth it. The second one never seems to take you as long, so I expect you’ll have a finished pair to tuck under those boots in no time flat. xo
Cute wellies and yay- your Hokusai sock is gorgeous!
The boots – I adore them! I want them for myself! Your new sock is beautiful, and your whole post today was very Project Spectrum-y. Love to see those blues
Beautiful socks and adorable wellies!
Oh those are so cute! I love them. What a fabulous gift.
The socks look great too.
The socks have such a gorgeous lustre to them, and the colors look so good all knit up. I also have to chime in and say I love the wellies. What a great way to fight off the glum weather.

Cute Wellies…um, don’t think they will keep your feet warm in really cold weather but have fun!!
Nice socks too.
How adorable – and I bet they’re perfect to wear with nice thick wool socks!
Ooh – they’re just perfect. How cheery for the upcoming snowstorm!
You lucky girl! The boots are super cute and cool, and now you have the perfect socks to go with.
I wanted to belatedly thank you for the PB Granola Recipe. I made it yesterday, and my husband (even though it was right after dinner) couldn’t stop eating it. Then he took out a bowl and ate it as cereal with milk. I had to hide some of it from him so that we could share with his parents. Needless to say he loves it.
And I haven’t even mixed it with chocolate yet. Once I do that, I think he would eat the whole pan.
awe i want some . arent you glad there not the old yukky brown knee high’s worn those many times here in alaska any well dressed gal here out on the town had a pair in her closet or did . evening gown and mud ducks or knee high rubber boots LOL and of course wool socks yep alaskan stye
Love, love them boots.
Cute boots. Great sock. Fabulous colors and the photography is pretty spiffy!
Very pretty sock.
Love the Wellies! If I had some pretty Wellies like that I think I would actually pray for rain and reasons to wear them.
oooooh…..the wellies are fantastique!!!
ya know, that cannon beach colorway wasn’t one of my favorites on her site….and yet now that i see them knit up, i love it! good eye!!
I’m so jealous! I love those boots but I can never find them in my size.
That sock is so mesmerizing. I love the colors. I’ve been slacking with PS2 so far because I’m trying to work from stash and I don’t have any blues. Your sock is making me really sad that I’m missing out on all the wonderful blues. I guess I now have a reason to buy more yarn
Today is definitely a perfect day to wear those and they provide the perfect bit of bright color that we need when the weather’s nasty. You lucky girl! Great job on the sock, too, can’t wait to see the pair.
OMG I LOVE those boots! I’m off to buy myself a pair
i love the way the yarn looks on those socks! no pooling at all. that’s really amazing to me
i feel like i never see hand painted yarn that doesn’t pool.
They are perfect for this weather. Nice and bright and they will keep your feet dry. And of course, you have to wear hand knit socks with them.
Love ‘em! (the wellies AND the socks!)
