Yarnography

Published by lolly at 9:29 am under Photography, Project Spectrum 2.0, Shades in Trekking

I mentioned that pink and green are some of my favorite colors.  My yarn stash (particularly my sock yarns) prove this point entirely.

I don’t think I have very much pink yarn in my stash. But there is a lot of green. Green is my favorite color! It looks like green is a big favorite for you too Lolly! :)

  5. margeneon 04 Apr 2007 at 10:54 am

  6. caroleon 04 Apr 2007 at 10:59 am

ooooh, so many gorgeous yarns! I need to look through my stash, but I did just order some gorgeous pink & green panda cotton.

  7. Jenniferon 04 Apr 2007 at 11:05 am

Gorgeous yarn! Pink is PQL’s favorite color, and green is SWB, so we’ve got a lot of that going on at home.

  8. Sarahon 04 Apr 2007 at 12:04 pm

Love the photos! As I have a lot of green in my stash, but not so much pink or yellow, I think Project Spectrum is a valid justification for adding just a wee bit to the stash — am I wrong? :)

  9. debon 04 Apr 2007 at 12:05 pm

Your sock yarns look yummy, one and all! I posted a pic of all my sock yarn stash in one pile (eeeek! it’s large!) last Sunday on “flash your stash day”—april 1st! A couple of weeks ago I also posted a picture of my “easter parade” socks (w/pink, turquoise and green), which were started during Socktober–LOL!

And I just realized I also have that same Mama Llama sock yarn — now just to find it…

Lovely, lovely! I really like how the Trekking sock is knitting up – the chevron pattern looks like tulips in bloom!

i just posted all my project spectrum-y yarn. :)

  25. Emilyon 05 Apr 2007 at 2:22 am

Such pretty yarns you have! I’ve just posted mine – like you all I have are pinks and greens (mostly greens). There MIGHT be some yellow lurking in the variegated greens, but that’s about it!

  26. pen & purlon 05 Apr 2007 at 7:27 am

Lovely yarn. Looks like you’ll have some fun & colourful projects to keep you busy!

  29. danielleon 05 Apr 2007 at 2:02 pm

Love love love the colors of your sock yarns! i have some koigu sock yarn left over in my stash that i call the “daffodil colorway” – bright yellow, spring green, dark green, and turquoise. i’ve also just picked up some lorna’s laces self-striping sock yarn in raspberry and white – mmmm – can’t wait to start on those!

  30. rebeccaon 05 Apr 2007 at 5:16 pm

yummy yummy yummy wish i had this yarn in my tummy? nope, stash is the right word, even thought it doesn’t rhyme!

  31. Kirstenon 05 Apr 2007 at 6:28 pm

  33. Sarahon 05 Apr 2007 at 8:17 pm

You are I are completely on the same sock yarn wave-length.

  34. junieon 06 Apr 2007 at 1:35 am

Wow, that Trekking is a wonderful color. Knits up in spectacular fashion.
    Lovely.

  35. ericaon 06 Apr 2007 at 9:43 am

I haven’t photographed my socks in recent months but I seem to have an overwhelming collection of green and pink sock yarns too. Green has always been my favorite color, even when it wasn’t cool in grade school and pink has become a recent favorite. That Morehouse Merino Laceweight is gorgeous.

  36. Dianeon 06 Apr 2007 at 10:22 am

I love that Morehouse Merino lace yarn color–so perfect for spring!
    Have a fun weekend!

  37. Jenniferon 06 Apr 2007 at 5:22 pm

I just bought the Noro Sakura (shown in cakes in your picture) in colorway 6 (your left colorway). I started making the Independence Top from the April 2007 Interweave knits with it – though, as usual, I modified the pattern a lot. This is probably one of the few patterns though where it will come out looking pretty similar to the picture, with the exception of the color and yarn. Nifty yarn. A bit drying on the hands. Great bright colors.

Hi Lolly! My pink and green yarns are in the link above. I also did the blue and white ones in an earlier post. It’s fun to see what we have for each color group!

  39. Whitneyon 06 Apr 2007 at 7:59 pm

Such pretty yarns! Thanks for the look into your stash. I posted some pictures of my own pink/green/yellow yarns on my blog, today, too.

  40. Heatheron 07 Apr 2007 at 9:00 am

I posted my yellow/green/pink yarns on my blog this morning too.

Yours is much lovlier. I love the Mama Llama. I’m gonna have to get me some of that!

  41. Kathyon 07 Apr 2007 at 11:50 am

I don’t have any pink, but I always pick yarn that has green in it – I can’t help it. Right now I’m knitting a scarf in Jade Cashmire Everglades colorway (all different shades of green) and a sock in Fleece Artist Sea Wool Glacier colorway (light green, tan and cream).

  42. Amy Artisanon 07 Apr 2007 at 12:13 pm

What beautiful yarns Lolly! So springy! (Even if it is wintry this weekend :) )

I need to see what pinks, greens & yellows are in my stash.

  43. Beeon 07 Apr 2007 at 3:11 pm

Green is my favourite colour…I’ll have to post the photos of all my greens because dayum…it’s almost shameful how much green I have! :)

  44. Crystalon 15 May 2007 at 3:19 am

Heh, I found your blog through your flickr page, found searching for STR Hwy 30… I don’t suppose you want to sell it?!!

Oh wow — I didn’t realize that you had a “yarnography” category on your blog! Great idea! The yarn really is cooperative when it comes to posing — so many potential models are always waiting quietly for their portraits.

Thanks for mentioning the Yarn Cake Portraits group. It must be why the membership exploded all of a sudden a few weeks ago. :-)
