I am shaking my head here; where in the world did this month go? I had such high hopes of finishing the lingering Project Spectrum knits on my needles before the month’s end. Alas, my needles are still full of pink, green, and yes, even two blue projects from the last color triad! Some catch up time is desperately needed…
I was right on track with the Shades socks, but then I hit that bump, and never recovered. Second sock is cast on, but I didn’t get back to it because of Wren, and the swap scarf. Seeing Katy’s finished ones makes me realize how much I need to finish my own! One sock to go – I think I can do that fairly quickly.
The Verdant Shrug – my token acrylic project . I worked steadily on this project, although it did not get much blog time. I am almost finished with it – only have to pick up stitches for the ribbed facing, seen here on the pattern. I do like this deep green with the subtle striping.
The Canyon Hiking Socks are coming along too – I am working on the calf stripes right now for sock two.
I won’t be too hard on myself, however: I did manage to finish a pair of socks AND a cardigan in these two months!
…I think it would be wise to clear these knits out before starting some of the bigger projects I have planned for June and July…
Did you reach your pink, green, and yellow goals?
What are you planning for the black, red, and metallics months of June and July?

My hope is to do a small project (a scarf or socks) for my partner with some black in it for June and July and to finish up the PS projects from earlier in ’07 that are already on my needles.
The colors in the topmost picture are SOOOO beautiful. It looked at first like a tulip.
Goals? There were goals?! I decided to wait until the last “triad” before unleashing my knitting Project Spectrum daemon! Less pressure on myself for my favourite colours.
my goals are the same as sprite’s, above – i have a ball of noro aurora (with metallic thread!) that i plan to make a quickie hat with, and then i’m hoping to play catch up on all (or at least some!) of my unfinished stuff. we’ll see how that goes!
Gorgeous projects. Give yourself a break – you’re one busy lady. I’ve been terrible on my project spectrum goals, but I’ve decided to count Butterfly as an all purpose project spectrum project since it has a little bit of every color =)
I finished 2 pairs of pink and green socks…of course I could knit with these colors forever! I love them so much and have more yarn in these colors! But I have already pulled out my sock yarns in reds and blacks….so I will be knitting ….socks for June and July!
I was thinking about digging out my beading stuff and having at it, I haven’t touched them in ages! I also thought about redesigning my blog, but who knows if I’ll get to that or not? I just got some Yarn Pirate yarn in Shiver Me Timbers colorway (red, white and black) that I am itching to try.
I didn’t get as much pink, yellow and green done as I wanted to, but I managed to do a pair of Monkey socks (stashbusting!) and a pink shell (recycled yarn!), so I didn’t do too badly.
I can’t wait for the next 2 PS months – the colours are stunning!
You always make Trekking sock yarn look so good! I have a ball in my stash that I will get to one of these days.
Well, I have knitted a pair of pink socks, showed my green, yellow and blue yarn next to some bananas, showed the DQ banana cream pie blizards I have been addicted to (yellow), showed my lettuce growing in my garden(green) and knitting a blue sweater.
I love how you have a ‘token acrylic project’!;)
I managed to finish up a pair of green socks and a pair of non-spectrum socks but they’d both been languishing in the yarn basket for a while…and also finished my Flair cardigan. Yay! Thanks to PS, I’ve found a new love for the colour pink.
No plans yet for the reds/black/ metallic yet…thinking socks and maybe the Razor Cami by Katie Knits.
The month has gone by much too quickly! I hope to finish up my pink things and start on a red baby sweater for next month. Good luck with you projects.
You have quite a few projects on the go too. Maybe we need two months after PS has finished just to catch up on projects that slipped behind in the finishing goals. I have already started a red cardigan for my daughter, although I wont post about it until Friday, and there are still a few that are not finished yet from blue, green and pink too.
Socks and that great cardigan are nothing to sneeze at! I’m planning a black lace scarf and some stripey socks for the next period, but I’ve also got a lot of green and blue still on the needles…
I’m with you – this month has gone by without me noticing!!!! I can’t believe it’s almost june! crazy!
i can ‘t believe that’s acrylic – looks really nice! and i think you were busy enough this month, and wren was certainly worth it.
hearing this loud and clear… my green april/may knit sits still on my needles, having never fully recovered from the devastating “what? cardigan fronts need armholes?” error of last month
but it will see the light of day and get finished eventually! and i’ve been trying hard to explore more pink, sewing with it, photographing it, and generally lessening my hostility to it. i think it’s working.
it’s in almost everything i do. not sure about black yet, and looking forward to thinking about metallics… i think more jewelry-making on that front!
my plans for the next set… well… i heart red SO much that that part will be easy
mmm, I am still on a blue project…. ***sheepishly admits***
but I am really enjoying the blue project – does that count?
I love the colors of that verdant shrug! Gorgeous.
where the heck did may go?
i had intended to knit up those ms. oni opera gloves as my april/may PS project but i haven’t touched them in weeks! nuts. :/ i’m already too busy thinking about june and my perty red/black/white Lorna’s laces sock yarn. . .
The only things I’ve completed that have been even remotely Spectrum related (or even not-Spectrum related) have been socks. Socks in PS colors, I have covered. Everything else is a mass of semi-completion. Maybe I’ll use these next couple of months to finish up (and maybe toss in a pair of red socks to cover my bases).
I finished my pink/green goals with some yarn I spun, but I just started the socks I am making with it. And I still haven’t finished my blue socks yet either. I am having time issues here too.
Don’t worry, when you have a lot of projects on the go, generally you wind up finishing a bunch in a row down the road…
This cycle? I am still knitting a white (baby!!!) sweater from the first cycle! My goal is to finish a green baby sweater tonight and then there are my yellow socks… I am keeping things simple for the next cycle I think. I don’t have a huge list, I am just going to look in the stash and figure out what to do with what is there…no pressure (–and it’s mostly going to be red for me, my favorite color). It’s summer knitting!
See, I only make progress on my socks because I’ve hit the finishing bump on about 6 other things. Arrgh.
I haven’t knit a single thing in the right colours! I suck!
I’m just going to have to be one triad behind everyone else!
I want to make crochet shrug on next month. Actually, i never crochet anything and i’m a beginner. Also hope i can make a pair of socks.
I agree! This month flew by! I can’t believe it but I am going to be done with Audrey! i’m in the process of sewing on the neckline and then I just have to seam the sleeves. yay!
I didn’t think I had a black project but then decided that I am going to knit Ariann by Chick Knits using some black Cotton Ease in my stash.
Well, I’m workin’ on my green sock, and I’m enjoying the green and pink and yellow of the spring… but no pressure otherwise. I don’t have anything planned for red/black/metallic; eek! I should at least try to find something to do… try to move out of my blue/green/teal zone a little. Maybe I can find something to do with that silver and gray Jager yarn. ^_^
I posted my response to your questions in my own blog
You can see it here: http://eleme.livejournal.com/185141.html
I love the colors of the Verdant Shrug–so pretty! I’m looking forward to seeing it finished.
I didn’t manage to finish many projects over the last couple months either, but I’m still plugging away. There isn’t much red, black or metallic in my stash, so I plan to do a little shopping!
I didn’t start the pink and green Noni bag, because of our house sale and upcoming move. I am working on the pink pie wedge shawl, but sadly have not made any more progress on the pink camisole.
I think I’m going to continue on with these through June and July, since I’m not really a fan of red or black colors, and I’m afraid to start anything new.
I think I’ll start a Diamond Fantasy Shawl for my MIL (shhh!) in black wool-and-silk, and finish the just-started silk Adamas in the”Ink” colorway….
I think you’ve done a marvelous job. Keep up the great work, and by all means, keep those pictures coming.
I am kinda sad to see the Pink, Green and Yellow go away…..I think I am going to have a harder time with Red Black & Metallics……
I didn’t get much done in the way of pink or yellow, but I did get two green things and a ton of blue and white stuff. Yeesh. I procrastinate even in fun stuff.
Your pics are beautiful!
I did get most of the things I wanted accomplished for Pink/Yellow/Green. I don’t have too much planned for black/red and definitely no metallics so the next 2 months should be interesting for me.
Well, I’m still truckin’ along with my pink and green dresses, if it makes you feel better!
Goals? Life seems to be going at warp speed.
I am going to do a bit of catch up myself. I plan to finish my white cabled bag. I am at a stand still with my Pink and green sweater. I finished the back but it is very boring I seem to be dragging my feet. I am having thoughts of ripping it out and using the yarn for something else.
June and July plans: I am thinking about making a sewn Red quilted Christmas tree skirt. I always run out of time around the holidays so maybe this might be a good time to get it made.
TAG! your it! see today’s post on my blog to see what i’m talking about:)
For Feb/March and Apr/May I ended up doing 1-2 projects with each colour set, but I didn’t have any specific goals. I think for June/July I will DEFinitely make at least one goal – a pair of red Clessidras! I’ve had the yarn languishing for the longest time and still haven’t started the socks yet. Well, PS is a great excuse to get me in gear.
I’m planning more green and yellow
