Socktoberfest: Day One!

Published by lolly at 4:54 pm under Socktoberfest 2007

Today does feel a little different, doesn’t it? That excitement of the new month and the possibilities – and the chill in the air is coming back. It definitely seems like a good time to be thinking of socks.

Socktoberfest banner

…and while we can’t all be knitting socks at the original OCTOBERFEST, we can create the buzz and excitement of the festival and the community spirit (and drink the beer too…) So, please consider joining the Socktoberfest Flickr group, and encouraging your fellow knitters and crocheters – there are some great discussions going on there, and at the new Socktoberfest Ravelry group.

A HAPPY SOCKTOBERFEST to you, my friends!

(Psst… you like the new design?)

This new design is definitely fitting to the high quality that is your blog. I want a Kris to make a fancy blog for me…

So, not only did I just realize that PS was ending in September, but I didn’t even make the connection that Socktoberfest, and October, are now upon us. Man, where is my brain these days?
I have some other projects waiting in the wings, but I’ll definitely need to work some sockness in there. If nothing else, I have some great yarns that I can pet.

    Love You!

  38. [...] Socktoberfest began yesterday! I celebrated it in style by knitting only on Michael’s red sock. I am at the cuff and have only 2 more inches to knit and I’m done with it. I”ll take the yarn and my notes to work with me so that I can cast on for the second sock! [...]

I really like the new design. Welcome to Socktoberfest, indeed. Still haven’t decided what I’m doing for this year’s socktoberfest. New socks, or finishing up an old pair. Probably new, hee hee. Oh, I haven’t been around for a minute, but I adore your new haircut. It looks great on you.

I love the new look too. If you’re willing, I’d be interested to hear more about how the gallery was set up. I see you are using Gallery 2.0 – are you loading pics from Flickr or do your host them somewhere else? I tried to use Gallery for my website about a year ago, but I’m not a programmer and I couldn’t figure it out.

  62. Katieon 03 Oct 2007 at 5:41 pm

I love the new design! Very clear and crisp and modern. What’s the yarn? Southwest Trading Company?
