Socks in the Great Outdoors
The weather finally shifted – the cool breezes and falling leaves are finally here. What better way to celebrate the autumnal season than by knitting beautiful and functional socks? (and subsequently photographing them outdoors!)

I do hope you have a lovely weekend! Make some time to spend outdoors (with or without your socks!) Kris and I are traveling to North Carolina to visit my sisters, so we will come back on Monday with a slew of new photographs, stories, and hopefully a finished pair of socks.

socks look better in leaves. most excellent pictures.
Beautiful socks! Have a wonderful time in NC. I’ll miss you at Stitches.
Why is it that every October my thoughts turn to sweaters? I’m still knitting socks, but not as many. It’s fun to drop by here and see the wonderful socks that others knit this time of year.
what a great time of year – crisp, cool….perfect!
Have a great trip!
It’s STILL to hot here to feel like fall. I feel like I’m NEVER going to get to wear socks.
Wishing you a lovely weekend too
Nice collection! The Log Cabins are my favorite.
I love the Waving Lace socks! Now I’m going to have to find myself a copy of that issue of IK. : ) Beautiful!
fantastic collection! very Fall.
These photos are gorgeous– would make good screen savers. And speaking of screens, I just watched an episode of online Boingboing TV about Ravelry and I added a comment at the bottom about Socktoberfest: http://tv.boingboing.net/2007/10/09/online-knittingburma.html
Fall is the best time for photographing colors outdoors! Great collection!
I’m delurking! I love your blog (I’ve been reading it for almost two years now- since around the time I first started knitting) and thought I should say hello, and thank you for the time you put into it! I recently finished my first pair of socks and have caught the bug, and I’m hoping to celebrate Socktoberfest with at least one new pair!
yay for socks-piration! I love the bib too, I made a bunch for preggo pals, cute!
I hope you have a safe and very fun journey!
I really like the Log Cabin socks. They look both warm and pretty.
Your socks are beautiful! I’m so jealous at how many pairs you have. One day I hope to have as many in my collection.
Great collection of socks!
