Wow, it looks like it’s in really good shape too! Almost all the wooly sweaters I find at thrift stores are a little too felted for recycling. Can’t wait to see what it becomes someday.

I always feel so sad when I see lovingly handcrafted items at resale shops because you know someone put time, effort and money into making something they hoped someone else would cherish. When the item is in new condition, you can figure it didn’t get much use/wear/whatever. I think of the time when all my hard work will end similarly if it avoids the landfill. At least if the materials are recycled, they get a new life and – just maybe – we can honour the memory of the original maker?

I always feel a little twinge of sadness when I see hand-knit stuff at Value Village. All those hours… But glad to see this lovely wool has found a second life and in such capable hands. Can’t wait to see where it ends up!
