Regarding Beau

Published by lolly at 10:59 am under Beau Pullover

I started on Beau after the Thanksgiving holiday. I neglected to get a good photograph early in the process, and now the back is already complete. It has been sitting idle in my bag for about a week as I am diligently working to complete my other knits.  The checkerboard pattern on the chest was quite fun to knit - it added a wonderful textural element to the pullover. Initially, I was concerned that it would be too “busy” for Kris’s taste, but he commented that he liked it. That is a good sign!

Beau's Checkerboard Weave

Plain ol’ Patons Classic Merino Wool in the Chesnut colorway. Working up like a charm.

I am hoping to finish this sweater over the next month - there are three opportunities to give it to Kris during that time:  Christmas, his birthday, and our anniversary.  Since our anniversary - January 5th - is the last of the succession, I will shoot for that.  So, if I do finish earlier, I will be pleasantly surprised.

Beau Progress

I have been on such a sweater kick lately: I am seeing inspiration everywhere. My sock stash hasn’t seen much action lately. Ebbs and tides…

The sweater is coming along well! And I like your new banner..I read your blog on RSS in a reader, so I’ve no idea how long you’ve had it!

I think socks are good warm weather knits and when it’s cold you want to have something warm in your lap!

That is a great brown, and I’m sure it will look wonderful on Kris!

Isnt Beau a beautiful pattern. I am thinking of knitting it for my partner one of these days, although he says he doesnt need any more sweaters since I have knit about 5 for him. Sometimes I wish we had snow and colder weather so he could wear them more often than he gets to. I love the color of Kris’ sweater too, it looks like chocolate.

I’ve done nothing but work on socks, now I’m feeling an urge for larger projects, but I just don’t know what yet…

The sweater is going to be fabulous, Lolly. I was going to start knitting K a sweater for either our 1) dating anniversary (November), 2) Christmas or his birthday (end of Januuary). I am going for his birthday. But I am all for pleasant surprises!

Oh this is looking wonderful! I wish I could say I am on a sweater kick. But alas, I’ve been bitten by the holiday knitting bug (why??). I’ll just have to live vicariously through you…if you don’t mind. ;)
