Kushner Collage Artist Trading Cards
Created for Project Spectrum Elements: FIRE
I save old calendars for occasions such as this. The collages, created for the Artist Trading Card (ATC) Swap were made from a 2006 calendar featuring the vibrant paintings of Robert Kushner.
These cards were not my initial vision, but I enjoyed piecing them together. In the end, I was quite happy with how the colors worked with the base paper (from a set of textured papers I picked up a few years ago…) I do hope that the little cards put a smile on the recipients’ faces!
The first Artist Trading Card swap for Project Spectrum was a bit of a test-run, and we had a few glitches. To those of you who were disqualified from the swap, I do hope that you understand that we needed a line of demarcation. As stated in the original ATC Swap post, if you are interested in participating in the swap, you must create an account and put some information in your profile - it can be as simple as talking about your favorite colors to a whole biography. We are using Swap-Bot to run the matches, and this third-party intervention is actually a big help. Poppins remains to be the administrator of the swap, and I can also help with any questions, etc.
…the next Artist Trading Card swap, for the EARTH element (April/May) will be open until April 17th, you can create an account and sign up for it now! (and don’t forget to add some information about yourself in the profile!)
If i ever get some time, I’m going to make a card for a friend that follows the Fire theme—and I even started saving clippings that fit the other color themes, so I might actually participate in PS this time! I want to, I’m just not super inspired right now.
I really like the mix of textures and sheen.

I love your cards. They definitely look fire-y without setting themselves on fire.
It’s actually probably good I was booted out of this ATC swap just because school’s swamped me the last few weeks. Really excited about the Earth swap though.
Got the one on the Right today and it’s lovely! Thanks, so much again for being the brain child of this project. I also wan’t familar with Robert Kushner so thanks for the intro to his work too~~
