It’s good to be home, but I have to say that I started missing Canada the minute I stepped out of the airport in DC and felt the heat blast on my face (100 degrees?!) I was still wearing a pullover and scarf from the pre-dawn mist in Halifax!

Did you even know I was gone? I queued up a few posts before I left to throw you off track :) We have been road tripping around Nova Scotia for the last two weeks. I met some amazing people – holla to Megan, Ingrid, Annie, and Mimi! – and saw some amazing things. In true Kris/Lolly fashion, we snapped a few thousand photos… so, stay tuned once I get through them!

…and there was a little knitting, but not nearly as much as I anticipated…

We had a hard time getting home (two canceled flights! sitting on the tarmac for 6 hours and not being allowed to leave!) but, hey, it wasn’t an earthquake. Funny how that keeps things in perspective.

I have some great things to share, but now, I need to do laundry and get a nap ~

Welcome home! I can imagine that heat would have shocked you if you’ve still had it cool in Canada. I’d love a cool day here in TX, but looks like summer has arrived and I’ll be in doors for weeks now!
Can’t wait to see your pics.

I’m so glad that you’re back and soooooo glad that you had a great time! You’re not the only person that I’ve heard had a hard time getting back from vacation. It must be going around ;)

Just remember, some of us would be thrilled to have some of that hot weather (well, maybe not 100*)…

Oh what fun! I LOVE Nova Scotia – Amy and I honeymooned there and I can’t tell you how much I want to go back. Post all sorts of photos!

I’ve got two sets up on Flickr – my favorite one is the “flora and fauna of Nova Scotia” set at http://www.flickr.com/photos/librarygrrrl/sets/72157594222234447/.

I’m SO enjoying reading about your lovely holiday and following along with the photos. I can’t wait to go visit the maritimes again! Halifax airport must have the highest rate of canceled flights anywhere. The fog!

Good to hear you’re home even though we would have kept you here a bit longer! My house is still for sale if you decide you need more Nova Scotia goodness!

I am planning on making some soap today! Hopefully some will make its way to your corner of the world soon:)

I had to laugh when I saw your post because we are in the midst of an insane heatwave here. Sadly, the handknits are getting no air-time.

Sorry that the Pens went down in the end. They fought a good fight though, and made the finals very exciting (right down to the last seconds!)

Can’t wait to “see” your trip…

That’s just evil. Leaving us all *alone* and not even tell us!

I’ve been in Canada very briefly, crossing from Buffalo to Canada to see the American side of the Niagara better. I figure that once you’ve been in Canada, it counts for all your life, :)
