what everyone else said: the color is simply gorgeous, and the jacket itself suits you so well! i'd say, if you must change something, go with the taking in at the seams--felting just seems to scary, especially with all that seed stitch. how about a mock-neck/turtleneck shirt underneath? (once the weather cools down, of course; is it just me, or does the crafty bastards fair seem cursed to always fall on a ridiculously hot day?!)

That is such a perfect autumn jacket. And the purple is definitely a 'Lolly' colour. You look great in it!

Oh it's lovely Lolly. That color is just amazing on you. I do see what you mean about the planning what to wear. I made the Debbie Bliss Silk Garden sweater and the neckline presents similar issues for me. I look at it and the first thing I think of is all the Jane Austen productions I've seen and how sometimes there would be some sort of sheer fabric forming a wide v - like this http://flickr.com/photos/copetan/2055752164. So maybe some scarf action? Listen to me, fashion consultant.

Moldova looks great, and it's a great color on you! I like it a little shorter the way you did it, and the buttons are cute. Way to go for the no seams! Also, I kind of like it how it is - I don't think you need to shrink it at all. It hangs nicely just the way it already is.

Beautiful coat Lolly and great color on you! I don't think I would take a chance with felting it either. It would be such a shame to have it shrink too much or to lose the seed stitch pattern. I tried that with a sweater once and ruined it.

I like your coat and the reasoning behind the name, very thoughtful. I have heard about the Geography of Bliss and wanted to try it out but had nto picked it up yet, after hearing a little more about it I think I will give it a try... thanks for bringing it up.

It is an interesting thought that your location can determine your mood. I mean of course we all know that your surroundings directly reflect the mood that you are in, but an entire country (city, state etc...) effected by the surroundings... very interesting.

The coat looks marvelous to me. I would definitely not try to felt it. You can the the sides in a little if you want to.

Totally unrelated : You have got an award : http://nopatterns.blogspot.com If you want it - you can copy it and nominate a blog you like.

What a lovely coat Lolly! It is definitely a great knit for starting off the fall. As the weather gets cooler, what about turtlenecks for not fighting the neckline?

Being a sucker for yarn names, I may have to get some of this colorway to knit for my sister - her trip to Moldova last summer was an incredible experience for her.
