It's also hard to knit a garment for someone who lives 800 miles away! That's what I did when I knit my mom a sweater last year...I never realized just how helpful it is to be able to have the intended recipient (which is usually ME, LOL) try it on as I knit until that wasn't an option! Hope your mom's sweater turns out well! I'm sure she'll appreciate it. :) It is hard to knit a surprise sweater for someone else, isn’t it?
