First Things First…

Embarrassingly, I have to admit that nearly a month has gone by, and I have not yet chosen a winner for the wonderful book that I offered up last post!

Without further ado…

Emily @ Orchard Chronicles
is the lucky winner of the extra copy of Vintage Modern Knits!

Many thanks for the comments – it is nice to know that even though I haven’t been posted that much, some of you still read with interest!

(or you just like free stuff – maybe both?) :)

I have been looking high and low for my knitting mojo… and for the last few weeks, it has completely eluded me.  Good news is, with the help of my friend Em, I may have found it – in the most likely of spots: my yarn stash (and a little bit of enhancement…) We have been meeting up a few times over the last few weeks at Looped Yarn Works, the new(ish) yarn shop in downtown DC for some knit time…

Looped Yarn Works

Em Knitting @ Looped

… and inevitably, I found some things that came home with me …

Malabrigo Worsted

Malabrigo Twist in “Zinc” colorway (*swoon*)

WIP: Eyelet Vest

… and three skeins of DB Baby Cashmerino that just HAD to be this little vest for Baby V…

It is still early to tell, but the knitting mojo may very well be back in full force my friends!

(…and in case you wonder what I have been up to instead of knitting?  check out my GoodReads account!)

Em looks adorable! I love the belt buckle, ha!

Glad you found your knitting mojo…and are we going to see more baby knits soon for the upcoming niece/nephew? Also, is there any chance you’ll be heading out this way again to see them? I have a date later this year that I’d love for you to be in town for… ;)

I have been struggling with knitting mojo too. I think it is the change in seasons. The weather has been fantastic here so I have been playing outside a lot instead of knitting. Did you see the picture of Maggie at Boyscout Beach I had on my blog? I was thinking of you when I took it because I wished you could have seen how different the beach looked that day compared to when you were there! There were strong winds, 5 foot waves and a ton of sea ice. The waves were so loud we couldn’t talk and I had to put Oso on a leash to keep him from chasing the ice and the wave caps.

Wow, what a pretty shop! And Malabrigo is so yummy…I will say, my knitting mojo is pretty much gone these days, but the occasional project still calls to me.

ooh, I am going on a trip down to DC soon and am always on a lookout for another yarn shop. I’ll have to check this one out! A little judicious stash enhancement never hurts anyone!

Ha! I bought 2 skeins of that same malabrigo in the same colorway. Let the hoarding of gray yarn begin!
Also, what is the image on Emily’s belt buckle? I am intrigued.

With that first picture, I thought you were going to say that you found your mojo in your stash, and there it is. Okay, that really was a yarn store :)

Yay, you’re back! I’m glad you finally made it to Looped, I really liked it the few times I’ve been there. I also succumbed to the appeal of the malabrigo there, it’s so hard to fight. I hope you’re enjoying your knitting, reading, cooking, family time and the impending spring. xoxox

Sometimes my eyes mislead me – as I was scrolling down your post I thought the first picture was of your stash, nicely organised. I was thinking how could you ever lose you knitting mojo with such a neatly organised stash?! I should really learn to read properly…

    Your malabrigio looks lovely!
